Role overview

Monitoring and Evaluation Manager will provide comprehensive management of the project monitoring and evaluation system for UNFPA program and coordinates project MEAL activities in tracking the project progress by preparing comprehensive M&E plan, monitors field through field visits, compiles cases and stories capturing the project success and takes lead in developing the partner capacity in monitoring and learning documentation.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Essential:

Qualification: Master’s degree in relevant field; Proven experiences working in diverse multicultural team.

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience in MEAL Plan development and processes.
  • Proven knowledge on contributing to research and monitoring process.
  • Excellent knowledge on using participatory tools and techniques.
  • At least 5 years’ experience on project monitoring and operational research.
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills particularly in monitoring review and reflection.

Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to listen, analyse, present, consult, negotiate with confidence and obtain stakeholder engagement. Able to communicate complex issues effectively to wide range of audiences. Experience of remote and cross-cultural communication, demonstrating sensitivity to cultural and language differences.

Organization and planning: Excellent coordination and planning skills with experience of working under pressure.

Time management skills: prioritization skills, decision making skills, focus of the program, coping skills etc.

Flexibility: Ability to manage a project in a changing context, recognizing and being open to ambiguity, uncertainty, and opportunities.

Information Technology Systems – Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, infographics. Experience in creating and training on the usage of information management systems e.g. SPSS, Strata for data management.

Travel requirement: Able to travel in project areas occasionally and spend time away from work- base location and home.

Desirable:

  • Good knowledge and understanding on knowledge management, monitoring, evaluation and learning; continuous learning and improvement.
  • Practical experience within a volunteering/Non-Government Organization context.
  • Engaging with volunteers and their management.
