Work Location: Kathmandu Valley

Department: Molecular Diagnostics

Purpose Statement: To operate Molecular Diagnostics Lab testing activities

Educational Qualification: M.Tech./M.Sc./Ph.D.in Biotechnology, Medical Biochemistry or related Molecular Diagnostic Field

Qualification:

  • M.Sc (Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology) interested to work in covid lab with a keen interest in multidisciplinary research Covid -19, Leprosy, TB, TB-HIV and LF.
  • Expertise in RNA Extraction and/or Real Time PCR and is responsible for independent handling of the microbiology laboratory

Job Description

Laboratory Work:

  • DNA/RNA extraction from clinical samples
  • Operation of automated RNA/DNA extraction system and RT-PCR system
  • Prepare and maintain the laboratory requirements including kits & instruments as required for the laboratory tests
  • Conducting periodic Quality assemble tests as required
  • Practice of good and safety lab protection including biomedical waste management

Documentation:

  • Maintain proper records, registers and reports up to date
  • Documentation for regulatory purposes such as Nepal Government, COVID-19 Database
  • Indent clinical kits
  • Assist in preparing project progress and other mandatory reports of the laboratory
