Our mission is to introduce high-quality mushrooms and mushroom products to the Nepalese people, offering health and culinary benefits.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Microbiologist at Northern Fungi. The Microbiologist will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, maintaining laboratory equipment, and overseeing microbiology processes related to mushroom production and also the overall grow cycle, processing and storage of mushrooms and mushroom products. 

  • Qualifications
  • Laboratory Skills, including knowledge of microbiology techniques
  • Experience in Quality Control and Assurance
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Equipment maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Microbiology

Responsibilities: 

  • Preparing cultures of various species of edible and medicinal fungi
  • Preparing Culture Media, Plates and Slants 
  • Preparation of fruiting blocks, mushroom spawn and their inspection
  • Performing Distillation, Extraction, Sterilization, Inspection
  • Management of Chemicals, Reagents and Equipment 
  • Stock Keeping and Inventory
