REEEP-GREEN is a technical cooperation project agreed between the Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Federal Republic of Germany. With support of GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union, REEEP-GREEN is executed by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and sets out to improve the preconditions for planning and implementation of measures for the promotion of renewable energies and the efficient use of energy in Nepal. The main objective of REEEP-GREEN is to create the regulatory, institutional, and private-sector conditions for disseminating renewable energy and improving energy efficiency in Nepal. REEEP-GREEN uses a multi-level approach consisting of five output areas: Output 1: Policy- Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) at National Level; Output 2: Institutional Frameworks for RE and EE at Subnational Levels; Output 3: Sustainable Market Development for RE; Output 4: Dissemination of Results in the field of RE and EE; and Output 5: Energy Efficiency in Industries and Enterprises.

Qualifications and Skills:

Possess a university degree in journalism, marketing or Communication or adequate training and relevant work experience, which may be accepted in lieu of a university degree
Alternate profile can be students in their last year of studies of journalism/communication/marketing, recommended by their dean

General Functions

Under the direct supervision of the Media Analyst, the incumbents will assist with the following tasks:

Ensure the daily monitoring and registration of the daily and weekly press, radio and TV programmes concerning the election campaign, the political parties, the candidates, the polling days and state bodies involved in the election process, rallies and media interviews of candidates
Assist in collecting all writen press reportings on the election process and the Election Observation mission and analyse the articles using the mission’s media analytical methodology
Produce quantitative and qualitative statistical data of the analyses of the media
Any other tasks as may be required

NOTE:

All positions are open to men and women with no discrimination
For all positions, a good linguistic competence (spoken and written) in both English and Nepali is mandatory
All candidates must have sufficient computer skills to operate with electronic mail, word processing, public presentation and spreadsheet software
Flexibility required. Work is expected on occasions both in the evenings and weekends or even public holidays
