Plantation Initiative Nepal (PIN) is a non-profit non-governmental organization registered with the District Administration Office (DAO), Lalitpur with registration number: 5605/2075. It is registered with the Social Welfare Council (SWC); 48774. The main office is located in Bagdol, Lalitpur. PIN has been focusing on landscape restoration and community livelihood upliftment all around Nepal with programs in 16 districts from Jhapa in the east to Kalikot in the west.

Plantation Initiative Nepal is implementing Eden Reforestation Projects since 2015. Eden Reforestation Projects works in developing regions of the world to protect and restore forests and ecosystems by working with local communities to address and mitigate the drivers of landscape degradation. Eden has active programming in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Job Description

  • Coordinating monitoring activities in project sites in Nepal.  This includes permanent plot monitoring, Theodolite photography, and LivWell livelihood monitoring
  • Managing planting polygon files to coordinate on-the-ground planting efforts with planting goals and communication
  • Creating environmental and socioeconomic monitoring work plans to meet rigorous reporting requirements
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting teams to complete monitoring activities according to organizational timelines and standards
  • Managing the search, application process, and hiring of people from different universities with a discerning eye for character, leadership potential, and skill
  • Keeping monitoring equipment up-to-date with the various monitoring technologies
