Job Description

Ensure that teaching in the Mathematics department is contemporary and innovative, and maintain high standards and expectations
Co-ordinate the work of the department through well-planned and regular meetings
Take supervisory responsibility for aims, content, methods of teaching, methods and frequency of assessment, recording and reporting in the department
Be responsible for annual performance reviews of teachers in the department, including reflection, goal-setting and professional learning needed to improve student outcomes
Provide guidelines to students for subject selection, and allocate students to classes where appropriate
Communicate with parents as required, including managing and alleviating any parent concerns relating to student progress or relationships with teachers
