Purpose:
Marketing, Communication and Sustainability Director will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies and communication plans to enhance brand awareness, reputation, and customer engagement. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve business objectives. The individual will oversee external and internal communication, digital marketing, CSR initiatives, media relations, and brand positioning to drive both short- and long-term growth
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Strategy & Communication:
- Lead brand-building strategies across all channels in alignment with company’s strategic, revenue, and communication goals.
- Ensure high brand awareness with clear and consistent positioning.
- Propose and implement OOH, media placements, and activities to enhance brand recall.
- Drive both on-the-ground (OTG) and digital marketing activities to increase brand value and customer engagement.
Communication Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Understand business focus areas and provide communication recommendations to meet organizational objectives.
- Work closely with business units to align communication efforts with business goals.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including the CEO, Executive Committee, and external partners, to monitor media landscape, company performance, and competitive risks/opportunities.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
- Develop and manage CSR strategies to strengthen the company’s CSR brand in Nepal.
Reputation & Brand Management:
- Supervise communication efforts to ensure positive external reputation management.
- Conduct strategic media engagements (press conferences, workshops) and manage relations with top media houses and government bodies.
- Manage external communications, including press releases, CSR/Sustainability initiatives, and publications to build corporate reputation.
- Oversee internal communications and ensure alignment across business units.
Campaign & Data Positioning:
- Establish and implement strong data positioning, creating aligned propositions to strengthen business positioning.
- Develop and manage marketing campaigns, ensuring clear messaging, media selection, and cost-effective execution (TV, Radio, Digital, OOH).
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making adjustments as necessary.
Digital & Social Media:
- Drive, monitor, and respond to online traffic, engagement, and potential reputational crises.
- Ensure consistent communication across digital platforms, including social media.
Media Relations & Communication Material:
- Oversee media buying and placements, managing external vendors and agencies for successful campaign execution.
- Ensure content consistency across all platforms, including external press and internal communications.
Competitor & Market Analysis:
- Conduct competitor analysis and adjust strategies based on findings.
- Evaluate market trends and adjust marketing and communication strategies accordingly.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Create and manage the annual budget for marketing, media, and communications activities.
- Track spending to ensure ROI and optimize budget allocation across campaigns and initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering clear communication, ownership, and development.
- Implement performance management, including target setting, evaluation, necessary recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead cross-functional teams, providing strategic communication inputs to ensure positive corporate image and alignment with business goals.
- Foster collaboration with procurement and other departments for vendor selection and resource alignment.
Sustainability & Reporting:
- Ensure timely development and reporting of sustainability, annual reports, and performance metrics.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements in marketing and communication activities based on results.
Partnerships & Sponsorships:
- Develop and manage co-branding activities, events, and sponsorships to enhance brand presence.
- Manage agency and partnership relationships to support business objectives and brand positioning.
Education Qualification & Experience:
Educational Background:
- Master’s degree in management with 10 years or more experience working in Marketing, Corporate Communications or related field with at least 5 years of experience in a Managerial position.
- Bachelor’s degree in management 12 years or more experience working in Marketing, Corporate Communications or related field with at least 8 years of experience in a Managerial position.
Professional Experience:
- Proven track record in brand building, reputation management, and marketing campaign execution.
- Experience in developing and managing CSR programs and corporate communications strategies.
- Expertise in digital marketing, media relations, and crisis communication.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting and communications.
Industry Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the telecommunications or tech industry (preferred).
- Knowledge of regional media landscape, digital marketing trends, and CSR best practices.
