Job Description

Conscious Impact Nepal (Chetanshil Prabhav Nepal) is a Nepali NGO working in the village of Takure in the Sindulpalchowk district since 2015. Our work focuses on regenerative agriculture and agroforestry, sustainable construction, community infrastructure development, youth empowerment and education, rural development, and sustainable tourism. We host international and national students and volunteers to participate in community infrastructure and building projects, support the planting of thousands of trees with local farmers, and inspire young people to be active leaders in their communities.

Scope of Job

The Marketing and Communications Associate at Conscious Impact Nepal is responsible for communicating with Conscious Impact international volunteers as well as supporting efforts to market upcoming programs through social media, email, newsletters and blogs. The role requires excellent written and spoken English language skills and a good understanding of program marketing elements.

Major duties and responsibilities

Planning

  • Plan content for upcoming social media campaigns, blogs and newsletters to volunteers and donors
  • Collaborate with international team to plan work through email and phone
  • Coordinate volunteer arrival and plan logistics with the Nepali team

Marketing

  • 2-3 social media posts/week across Instagram and Facebook
  • 2-3 blogs/month highlighting our programs
  • 2 newsletters/month to all Conscious Impact supporters (list of about 4000)
  • Occasional paid ads through social media
  • Collect media content during site visits in Takure, Sindhupalchok (photos, videos, etc)

Coordination and Communication

  • Respond quickly to all volunteer signups, emails, messages, calls and social media messages
  • Coordinate arrivals with the volunteers and assist with logistics and necessary arrangements.
  • Place calls and connect with the volunteers and give program orientations for interested candidates.

Reporting

  • Prepare monthly reports of volunteer numbers and marketing initiatives.

Qualification and Desired Expertise

  • Comfortable living communally and in a rural, rustic setting (basic earthen homes and shared bathroom/kitchen/common spaces).
  • Microsoft Office applications competency (word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Enjoy outside activities, fieldwork and interest in walking 1-2 km for site visits and content collection.
  • Good interpersonal skills with working with international volunteers, living in a communal camp space together.
  • Bachelor’s Graduate in marketing and communication or at least 2 years of experience working in marketing and communications.
  • Digital designing skills through canva, photoshop and premier pro.
