Your Mission

As Samayama grows, we are seeking to hire a Logistics Operations Manager to join our management team. You will be in charge of providing management and leadership to Samayama’s logistics operations, which is the heart of the business. 

Your role will mainly involve driving important strategic operational decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. You will also be on the ground assisting the dispatch and rider team on a day to day basis ensuring seamless ground operations and helping promote a company culture of excellence. 

Successful candidates will have experience in managing logistical operations for a large company (or a related field) and have prior experience in a management or leadership position. A deep understanding of last-mile logistics in Nepal is also a plus.

With this opportunity you will

  • Develop, implement, and review operational policies and processes as the company’s logistics operations continually grows and evolves. 
  • Manage and assist your team’s daily operations through the supervision of dispatchers, fleet managers, and all hub staff. 
  • Oversee the direction of the delivery staff and work closely with the Fleet Manager to ensure professional delivery and pickup operations.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures in all hub facilities in Kathmandu.
  • Maintain control of the COD process and oversee delivery staff compliance and accurate reconciliation of cash.
  • Ensure load delivery to the mini hubs happens on time and with precision.
  • Lead the troubleshooting efforts from the mother hub, solve problems as they occur and ensure service integrity.
  • Create and maintain operating guidelines, training and performance for all team members.
  • Provide inspired leadership for the organisation.
  • Support worker communication with the management team.

We expect you to have

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, business or similar field.
  • Experience in management, operations and leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience within a logistics or supply chain function.
  • Solid understanding of logistics function in an e-commerce setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Data driven decision making mentality and sound business judgement through strong analytical thinking.
  • Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment.
  • Flexibility, resilience and desire to learn.
