Recognized as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, Action Against Hunger saves the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. With 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster and chronic food insecurity, Currently operational in 50 countries, it started its work in Nepal from 2005. Usually referred as technical expert for acute malnutrition in Nepal, it has been operational in different parts of the country addressing undernutrition through integrated approach following the Nepal Government’s Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan. The organization was successful in bringing attention of the government, key donors, UN agencies and stakeholders to address severe acute malnutrition both in terms of treatment and prevention through Generation Nutrition Campaign where more than 39 different organizations shown their solidarity. Currently operational in 6 districts (Makwanpur, Nawalparasi, Nuwakot, Saptari and Rasuwa, Rautahat), it is fighting hunger through different programme intervention viz. Nutrition and Health, Mental Health and Care practices, WASH, and food security & livelihood. The organization now seeks to strengthen its initiatives around Disaster Risk Reduction to help establish integrated and resilience building approach to all its programmes.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership in the area of activity:

  • Monitoring and analyzing logistical indicators in his/her zone
  • Making available all logistical information needed for the elaboration of projects, training and monitoring program leads

2. Implement and ensure the performance of the supply chain:

  • Ensuring conformity with ACF procedures at each stage of the supply chain
  • Establishing the Treasury Forecast with the Finance Officer
  • Putting in place and arranging for purchases in a timely manner and in accordance with the ACF procedures applying to each purchase (goods, tasks, services, premises)

3. Implement and ensure the performance of facilities management:

  • Undertaking or supervising the installation, maintenance and repair of logistical equipment
  • Carrying out an inventory and reporting on the state of repairs of property on arrival and departure
  • Supervision of the energy sources and vehicle fleet management : maintenance, planning, monitoring costs, administrative aspects (insurance, documentation)

4. Implement and ensure the performance of Information and Communication Technology and Network management:

  • Setting up and efficient operation of the means of communication (voice and data) in accordance with ACF standards
  • Training and support to users with the help of the ICT officer
  • Assessing the needs for equipment and ensuring proportional allocation

5. Contribute to security management:
Working with the person in charge of the base on the definition of a local security plan
Implementation of security rules for the base and ensuring they are properly applied

6. Setting in place and following up collaboration and coordination in logistics with the mission's partners:

  • Implementing and monitoring the modes of logistics management in the framework of joint projects
  • Ensuring that the undertakings of ACF and its partners on logistics matters are respected
  • Playing a role in consolidating the capacities of partners where a need is identified

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics Management, Management or other related fields,
  • Two years of experience in relevant position
  • Professional Certification/Qualifications in Purchasing & Supply Management will be an added advantage, 
  • Must demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency in the use of MS Office applications and management of supply chain databases. (Excel, Access) 
  • Good social and negotiation skills along with business acumen essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
  • A strong team player with good inter-personal skills
  • Required attention to details, maturity in decision making and time management skills
  • A pro-active person with initiative and drive
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to set and manage priorities


Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Contract Duration: 4 Months
Basic Salary per month: NRs. 52636
