Job Description

Strategy & Planning

Supply Chain Strategy

  • Assist Director in developing an overall plan for Import Logistics to ensure on-time delivery to customers

Operations

Supply Chain Operational Efficiency

  • Ensure Import process check list is being followed before entering the plan stuffing date (in collaboration with Sales)
  • Liaise with the Operations team(s) to ensure adherence to the weekly dispatch plan
  • Ensure timely arrival of containers as per the stuffing plan (liaised with factory coordinators/Operations team)
  • Ensure the materials are custom cleared/dispatched as per the Imports plan so that there are no delays to customers
  • Ensure compliance to various international and national regulations that may impact Imports of finished goods
  • Lead the process of Import RFQ along with Company to finalize the shipping lines & negotiate the quotation
  • Ensure completion of documentation such as Bill of Lading, Customs clearances, Licenses etc. within specified timelines
  • Ensure compliance to the Customs agreements & Government regulations
  • Prioritize the clearance flow in order to achieve fastest transit time possible

Liasioning

  • Liaise with Sales & Finance to avoid servicing delay due to buyer payment/credit/LC related issues
  • Liaise with legal team to finalize the contract
  • Liaise with Port Authorities and Shipping Companies to facilitate clearances

Vendor Management

  • Liaise and negotiate with shipping companies for costs & delivery within timelines
  • Monitor performance & quality of approved shipping companies

Financial and Control

  • Supply Chain Costs
  • Ensure cost of Import logistics is optimized
  • Supply Chain Quality Assurance & Controls
  • Ensure adherence to established SCM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Develop metrics to evaluate the performance of Import Logistics function

Budgeting

  • Ensure budgetary adherence to the allocated budget
