  • Familiarity with logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).
  • Familiar with making contracts and agreements.
  • Experience in dealing with transporters, CHA and forwarders of local and international including Indian seaports.

Job Description

Reporting Line: ISC Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Coordination: Plan, manage, and oversee the transportation of goods from suppliers to warehouses, coordinating with government agencies, banks, insurance providers, freight forwarders, and courier services to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries. Monitor and track shipment schedules for on-time performance.

  • Communication and Shipment Follow-up: Act as the communication link between vendors and internal teams for LC (Letter of Credit) processing, discussing terms, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring seamless coordination until shipment delivery.

  • Inventory and Warehouse Management: Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory levels and organized storage. Oversee the proper handling of goods during loading and unloading, and conduct regular inventory checks to reconcile any discrepancies.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare LC applications, shipping documents, and coordinate with banks, suppliers, and category buyers to ensure accuracy and compliance. Ensure adherence to customs regulations, import/export laws, and maintain all logistics-related records and documentation.

  • Cost Management: Negotiate transportation rates with logistics service providers and identify cost-saving opportunities. Monitor logistics budgets and expenditures, ensuring efficient use of resources and reporting deviations.

  • Customer and Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary contact for logistics inquiries from customers and vendors. Resolve issues such as delays, damages, or shipment discrepancies while building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.

  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in logistics operations and propose enhancements. Implement best practices to streamline processes and improve service levels while staying updated on industry trends and logistics technologies.
