About the job

Key Responsibilities:

Container Placement & Rate Allotment:

Collect container requirements from the Procurement Team with complete details.
Float booking requests to forwarders and collect quotations.
Analyze quotations based on cost, transit time, and other criteria.
Seek approval from the HOD before finalizing allotments.
Follow up with forwarders to ensure timely container booking.

Rate Filing & Documentation:

Fill out basic requirement details in quotation forms.
Maintain proper documentation by printing and filing received quotations.
Ensure all rate filing activities comply with company policies.

Container MIS Reporting (Dashboard Management):

Update the Container Tracking Report, including:
New Letter of Credit (LC) entries.
New shipment uploads.
Red flags and watchlist items.
Prepare and circulate the Container Dashboard and Benchmark Sheet (Rate Comparison) every Sunday.

Shipment Tracking & Forwarder Coordination:

Monitor SO for booked shipments and track container dispatch from the port of loading (POL).
Ensure real-time tracking of container locations, including transshipment updates and ETA/ETD at Vizag & Kolkata.
Follow up on outstanding bills and ensure timely payments.
Send repeated reminders for shipments flagged as delayed or critical.
Resolve operational issues by coordinating between suppliers, forwarders, and the procurement team.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of logistics, container tracking, and freight forwarding processes.
2-3 Years in Logistics / Container Tracking.
Bachelor’s Degree
Proficiency in MS Excel.
Excellent coordination and communication skills.
Problem-solving abilities to address shipment delays and documentation issues.
Attention to detail for accurate documentation and rate comparison.
