Designation: Logistics Assistant
Reports to: Vendor and Logistics Officer
Location: Chandol, Kathmandu, Nepal
Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 05:00 PM) from Sunday to Friday

Position Overview:

As a Logistics Assistant, s/he will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient functioning of the logistics and supply chain operations. Working closely with the logistics team, his/her responsibilities will include coordinating and overseeing various tasks related to transportation, inventory management, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Involved throughout the shipping process by reviewing and comparing transportation costs from different vendors, ensuring that the outgoing shipment is accurate and well packaged, tracking shipments, and ensuring delivery.
  • Receive incoming materials and compare what has been shipped with the shipment order, ensure that the materials are in good condition, stock the materials in the warehouse, and file all corresponding documentation.
  • Checks invoices to ensure that service requests have been followed and create and maintain liaison with suppliers and customers to ensure that shipments are received in an organized manner.
  • Performing clerical tasks such as maintaining records of shipments, updating databases of inventory, and filing paperwork.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with service providers.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure long-term goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate vendors to ensure their performance is in place with established specifications.
  • Reporting on a regular basis to the Vendor and Logistics Officer
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

Skills and Qualifications

Task Related

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 1 or more years of experience in related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics skills.

Competencies and Soft Skills

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at one time and ability to plan, delegate, and evaluate progress toward goals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within available timeframes.
  • Self-motivated and quick learner with a can-do attitude.
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time flexibility.
  • Must have a two-wheeler License.
