Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

We’re recruiting a full-time contractor Loans Processor / Parabroker to support our day-to-day mortgage broking operations. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, detail-oriented, and has a positive, can-do attitude. You’ll work remotely from home, so you’ll need stable internet and your own IT equipment. Prior experience in the Australian mortgage industry is highly valued (and Mercury Nexus CRM experience is a strong advantage), but training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Loan processing & application support

Manage deals end-to-end from post-meeting to submission, supporting the broker with day-to-day steps.
Create and maintain client files in Mercury Nexus (CRM), ensuring notes, documents, and status updates are accurate and up to date.
Prepare and complete lender documentation and online application forms (incl. “plans” / application packs).
Coordinate supporting documents: income, liabilities, IDs, living expenses, statements, existing loan docs, etc.
Conduct basic data checks and calculations (loan amounts, LVRs, servicing inputs, fees) with strong attention to detail.

Credit assessment support (with training provided)

Review Australian bank account transactions and identify salary/income patterns, recurring expenses, undisclosed debts, and risk flags.
Review credit reports and highlight enquiries, repayment history, defaults, limits, and key risk items.
Assist with pricing requests (rate reviews / pricing submissions), including compiling justification and packaging evidence.
Order / manage valuations and track outcomes with lenders/valuers; assist with follow-ups where required.

Compliance & verification tasks

Complete and manage ID verification requirements and related forms.
Assist with government guarantee / scheme forms and supporting documentation (where applicable).
Ensure files meet internal compliance expectations prior to submission (checklists, document naming, completeness).

From approval to settlement support

Track applications through conditional approval, formal approval, and settlement milestones.
Liaise with internal teams, lenders/BDMs, conveyancers/solicitors, and clients to keep the deal progressing.
Maintain clean timelines and proactive follow-ups to hit SLA targets.

General support

Participate in daily/weekly huddles and contribute to improving workflows and efficiency.
Other work-related tasks as required to support the team (this list is not exhaustive).

What We’re Looking For

Prior experience in Australian mortgage broking / loan processing / paraplanning (preferred)
Mercury Nexus CRM experience (highly regarded)
Basic understanding of credit policy and how lenders assess risk (training provided)
Ability to review bank statements and credit files with strong attention to detail
Confidence working with numbers (accuracy with calculations, LVRs, servicing inputs, fee checks)
Strong organisation, document management, and pipeline tracking skills
Clear communication skills (professional and friendly when dealing with clients and partners)
Ability to prioritise tasks, manage follow-ups, and meet deadlines
A proactive, positive, well-presented professional with a long-term mindset
