Job Description

Area/Department: Operations
Responsible Area: Designated outlets of Himalayan Java Coffee

Summary: 

The Line Manager at Himalayan Java shall be responsible for operation of the designated Himalayan Java Outlets and its sister concern. He shall plan and implement the operation strategies so as to improve the business performance. He shall coordinate with the Outlet Managers, set targets, come up with sales and marketing plans and monitor them. Area Manager liaises with the Management team, employees, vendors, supply chain partners and other stakeholders. S/he coordinates with the Founders, Chief Finance Officer, Operation Manager, General Manager and Human Resource Manager for the smooth functioning of the business.

Responsibilities:

Manage Business Operation Process

  • Standardize the business process and system in coordination with Operation Manager.
  • Systematize the inventory, materials, checklists, manuals and resources and their efficient utilization.
  • Supervise and support store managers and their teams within the assigned area.
  • Conduct regular outlet visits to assess operational performance, provide guidance, and address any issues.

2. Planning, Controlling and Performance Improvement

  • Set the sales target for each of the outlets within the area.
  • Audit and check the operation procedure in order to maintain the KPI of each outlet.
  • Review and analyze inventory reports to forecast needs and adjust orders accordingly.

3. Monitoring the work progress & overseeing day-to-day operations

  • Be informed and get updated about all chain and franchise outlets of area of responsibility.
  • Oversee the job functions of Outlet managers and subordinates.
  • Work with admin and operations to ensure smooth operations in all chain and franchise outlets of area of responsibility.
  • Check for variances in supply chain management.

4. Operation Strategy

  • Assist Outlet Managers to set the sales targets and achieve them.
  • Devise strategies to achieve targeted growth in coordination with OM.
  • Develop key metrics for operation and evaluate regularly.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of area strategies aligned with company objectives.

5. Liaising with employees, founder, management and other stakeholders

  • Act as a bridge between employees and the management team.
  • Assist and support the HR Department in various employee related activities.
  • Liaise with the Management, supply chain partners, customers and other stakeholders.

6. Empowering team members

  • Liaise with the Finance Department and Human Resource Department to ensure staff well-being, growth and happiness.
  • Enable team members as decision makers through training and other tools.
  • Train, and develop store managers and key staff within the area.
  • Assist ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities.

7. Product launch and Promotion

  • Liaise with Team for innovative product launch and ensure their promotion and enhancement of various other promotional activities and offers.
  • Coordinate with the corporate partners for the various promotional activities.

8. Maintaining quality standards

  • Confirm the quality maintenance and uphold consistency in the quality of product and services.
  • Ensure the compliance of health and sanitation regulations and maintenance of health, safety and security.
  • Observe and ensure that all the products meet our standards and to monitor store cleanliness, safety, repair and maintenance standards.
  • Ensure that Outlets provide exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Also address customer complaints and feedback promptly and effectively.

9. Strengthening the brand

  • The Line Manager along with the team shall carry “Himalayan Java” as a brand, and work continuously to drive the brand forward through continuation (of Himalayan Java’s rich culture) and innovation (of product, quality, services, cleanliness and processes).
