Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal, financial, and/or strategic advice during and outside of Board and General Meetings.
  • Handle regulatory relations, legal documentation, and due diligence.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the legal department including but not limited to seeking and providing guidance on legal matters such as workplace policies, contract negotiations, and litigation.
  • Report to the Chairman and Managing Director and often liaise with board members.
  • Prepare agendas and papers for board meetings, committees, and annual general meetings (AGMs) and follow up on action points.
  • Maintain files and records related to the organization's legal proceedings and contract.
  • Provide legal advice using oral or written platforms, Legal Officer will be expected to brief a team of staff members on legal issues, potential liabilities, and possible courses of action.
  • Supporting HR Department and Accounts Department by providing legal guidance as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years or more of working experience in public company's operations and policies.
  • Master’s in Law (LLM) from a recognized university.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and governance principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Nepali in both speaking and writing.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
