Youth Creation for fullness of Life (Youth Creations) is a non-profit making, non-governmental, non-political; A Youth led social development organization of Sunsari district. It was established in 2065 BS with the core objective of vulnerable and marginalized people especially women, children, youth and people living with marginalized condition are empowerment and participated in decision process about the issue affecting their livelihood. It had good experience in the sector of early child development. It has successfully implemented Youth development, Livelihood, Child Rights, WASH, Education, MCHN, Medpa and DRR projects in Sunsari and Udaypur districts.       Qualification, Experience and Competencies:

      • Masters' Degree in sociology, rural development, Forestry, NRM or any relevant field with an experience of  1 years or bachelor degree with 2 years’ experience in the field of empowerment of children, adolescent girls, and Young women
      • The Program Coordinator will be a full timer. S/he will have 60% of her/his time designated to the program rural/municipalities
      • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural groups and environment with ability to handle stresses and work within a tight deadline
      • Ability to coordinate and communicate with a diverse group of professionals and para-professionals from public bodies, private institutions, research institutions, or non-governmental organizations 
      • Ability to understand and work with local level government officials 
      • A good team player and team builder with ability to guide and develop capacities of team members, counterpart staff and other key stakeholders
      • Willing to undertake field visits and able to provide on-the-spot guidance to the field staff
      • Professional approach with strong work ethics
      • Good communicator in English – both oral and written 
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – inclusive of MS Project, and MS PowerPoint and Excel)

        Desirable:

        • Understanding of the working approach and procedures of Plan International Nepal
        • Good understanding of cross cutting theme
        • Lead and decide program will incorporate innovation and technology into its program to orient and build capacity on use of digital technology among youths for advocacy, networking and journalism
        • Disaster preparedness and community resilience, menstrual hygiene management will be other cross cutting theme introduced under Lead and Decide

        Capacity building of youth networks for disaster risk reduction and preparedness related activities will be implemented during initial years


        Job Description

        Job Overview:

        Under direct supervision of the chair person, the project coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Lead and Decide project. The incumbent will provide guidance and technical support to project team to implement L and D project in line with project portfolio.

        Key Responsibilities and Duties

        The Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing the LEAD and DECIDE towards delivering project's expected output and outcomes. Specific responsibilities, but not limited to, include the following:

        • Adhere relevant policies, rules, regulation and guidelines of Youth Creation for Fullness of Life Sunsari and Plan International (Personnel, Financial, Administrative Policies, Gender Equality and social Inclusion guide and Sexual Harassment, safeguarding children and young people etc).

        Project Management, Coordination and Implementation

        • Ensure Girls LEAD and DECIDE Program is implemented based on Country Strategy of Plan International Nepal and aspirations of the adolescent girls, young women and children
        • Identify analyses and highlight issues of Girls, children and young women in the LEAD and DECIDE program
        • Provide technical support and management input to CoC networks, youth networks, Young Women Organizations and frontline program team to ensure quality implementation of LEAD and DECIDE intervention
        • Ensure gender/social analysis, gender disaggregated data and information, gender transformative specific objectives and indicators in need identification, planning, POs and proposals
        • Responsible for managing the project. Review the existing staff strength including number and types of technical experts with required expertise to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of project activities and suggest if any adjustment/changes are required
        • Periodically review and update the project plans such as Financial Management Plan, Beneficiary Outreach Plan, Procurement Plan, Human Resource Management Plan etc and set the target for  Annual Work Plan and Budget  accordingly so that all targets are met by the end of project period
        • Monitor budget spending on theme, facilitate higher spending and ensure timely settlement
        • Facilitate the implementation of project activities in accordance with the Project Design and the Financing Agreement signed between Youth Creation for Fullness of Life and Plan International Nepal
        • Undertake safeguarding of children and young people assessments and support planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the program intervention in the new assigned location 
        • Facilitate for the strong and smooth relationship building between sponsored children and community people with sponsors, indeed review, ensure timely and quality sponsorship communication an successful visit of the sponsors
        • Facilitate interventions to raise awareness about Plan’s mission, vision, goals, program and core organizational policies including the Child Protection, fraud and anti-corruption, IT , anti-terrorism and security policies among community, staffs and local stakeholders
        • Mobilize staffs for support in sponsorship communication work for timely and quality document production
        • Ensure and manage 1-10 sponsorship commitments are met while delivering the output in communities

        Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation:

        • Ensure adoption of participatory planning process in project team and maintain the weekly and monthly work plan of project activities
        • Ensure that a full functional M&E system in place to capture project’s outputs, outcomes and achievements
        • Ensure that the M&E system provides a regular feedback to project team in improving working approaches and methodologies, coordinating and collaborating with various like-minded organizations
        • Ensure that project’s achievements and lessons learnt including case studies are documented in a professional manner and shared widely, both internally and externally. Also ensure sharing the project publications and knowledge products

        Documentation, Quality Control and Reporting:

        • Prepare and submit regular periodic progress reports such as monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual progress reports and other trainings/events reports and ensure timely submission of these reports to Plan International Nepal, Field Office at Itahari
        •  Support the organization and financial management staff in getting timely audit of the project accounts, and activities; ensure timely submission of Project Financial Statements and Audit Reports to Plan International Nepal
        • Ensure that the project has a communication strategy in place embedded with a feedback mechanism/grievances handling system and all project staff and stakeholders are kept informed of policies/procedures/changes related to the Project

        Knowledge Management:

        • Facilitate to establish a culture of lessons learning and sharing among all Project staff by organizing periodic KM events/meeting
        • Ensure that minutes, action plan and notes of all official meetings, technical reports on all training/workshop/consultations are properly documented, packaged and shared as appropriate
        • Document, package and disseminate lessons emerging from implementation of project activities frequently targeting different audience

        Others:

        • Develop the  performance evaluation  indicators for all staff members in a participatory manner and submit to board of organization for final review
        • Assist the board of organization in evaluating the performance of each staff member at the end of each year or before signing the extension of contract for the next period
        • Maintain regular communication and reporting to the Plan International Nepal, Field Office at Itahari.
        • Any other tasks as assigned by the organizations/plan International
