ROLE PURPOSE:

We reached approximately two million populations and invested over 70 million US dollars in 2016 to reach more children than ever before, through programs in Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection and Child Rights and Governance, Livelihood, HIV and AIDS, and Humanitarian crises.
Knowledge Manager (KM) is responsible to take lead in implementing the Project’s Knowledge Management Strategies/activities. S/he will advise the COP on knowledge management and information system as per the project requirement. The position holder will fully be responsible to oversee the management of all information within the MSA Project. The Knowledge Manager will ensure that the information needs of the project are met in a timely, effective and efficient manner in close coordination with other Project team members including Program, M&E and Finance.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Takes lead to set knowledge management strategic priorities of the organization/project
- Leads, plans and supports the implementation of the Knowledge Management Strategy/activities
- Takes leadership for knowledge management and information to all employees
- Provides a strategic view on the further development of knowledge management systems and practices in order to support the work and development of the organisation in future
- Takes the lead in encouraging PR and SR employees to share knowledge, ensuring they are aware of the knowledge management resources available to support their work, are appropriately trained and are using the systems efficiently and productively
- Establishes and makes functional a knowledge database of best practices for the project
- Takes the lead on all database issues and development, in collaboration with the IT manager and relevant team members
- Takes lead to keep all project documents safely and easily accessible whenever needed
- Makes sure that there is a standard process/procedures for managing intellectual assets of organization/project
- Creates and implements effective organisational tools for evaluating, assessing and communicating the impact of project work.
- Coaches and supports, to help other team members and SRs to embed best-practice approaches to information and knowledge management into all areas of project work
- Ensures that all team members and SR staff use relevant modern technology as per the program need
- Takes the lead to develop project related IEC/BCC, routine reports
- Supports Program, M&E and Finance team in analysing project data for generating evidences in decision making process
- Attends external events as required, including as a member of the team supporting the organisation's presence and profile
- Understakes other duties which may be appropriate within the areas of responsibility of the post, as and when assigned by COP
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Management, Communication, Development Studies, Public Administration or related field.
- 7 years (5 years for GSI group) of relevant work experience
- Very good command in English, preferred candidate with national languages in SAARC countries
- Excellent communication skills
- Time management/ability to prioritise
- Development or management of information systems to support complex business processes
- Significant knowledge and use of relational database systems
- Finding assembling and analysing verbal and numerical data from internet, databases and paper-based sources
- Dissemination of information in a way that is accessible, manageable and which supports the work of individuals in an organisation
- Experience of working effectively in a diverse team, maintaining good working relationships
- Excellent reporting skills
- Advanced excel skills
