Other Specification

The key responsibilities of the Legal Consultant will be to work with the Deloitte team and Nepal Electricity Regulatory Commission in delivering the regulatory activities outlined in the ERC Act 2017 and ERC Regulations, 2018. The Consultant will be expected to assist the team in legal review, prudence check and due diligence, petitions review, regulatory orders and directives, capacity building etc.

Job Description

At least two years’ relevant professional experience working on legal issues related to energy sector in Nepal
Corporate law experience with a Nepali context
Experience with various dispute settlement mechanisms including arbitration and appeals, and including Nepali context
Preference would be given on

Experience in drafting and advising on regulatory instruments related to electricity sector.
Previous experience advising on cross border transmission line transactions
Experience in working with donors, International Financing Institutions, Regulatory Bodies and/or commercial lending institutions

Fluency in English and Nepali required (speaking, reading and writing)
