Tasks
“Communication and visibility plan” (C&V plan)
- Coordinate and further develop the C&V plan
- Organize and implement activities outlined in the C&V plan, prepare contracts needed for the same, and support and coordinate colleagues participating in the implementation
- Depending on the complexity of respective products, develop or support the development of suitable communication instruments and prepare their content (e.g. project brochures, fact sheets, publications, advertising material, videos, and other (social) media content, PowerPoint presentations based on the corporate presentation or the project’s standard presentation, newsletters, information sheets)
- Manage the necessary coordination processes and the production of publications and materials in accordance with GIZ standards (corporate design, standards for content)
- Write press releases and hands these to the country’s or region’s PR professional for further use
- Compile information material for media (basic material and for specific occasions) and distribute these systematically in line with the target group’s needs
- Monitor the media (documentation and analysis of media reports on the project)
Quality assurance
- Consult with the Corporate Communications Unit on articles on the intranet, and provide editorial input on practical examples and other texts for GIZ and development partner media
- Advise local staff on the regulations for communication in the interests of a uniform GIZ image
- The layout or coordinate layouting of publications of all type
- Proofing of the finalized content e.g., text and publications for internal and external media
- Provide editorial support to the website content, prepare, coordinate and advise on the online presentations of projects and programs
Delegation visits
- Prepare and support delegations and VIP visits
- Prepare factsheets and information material for delegation visits
Other duties/additional tasks
- Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management
Required qualifications and experience
- BA in communication, PR, and/or graphic design
- At least 1 year of professional experience in the field of communication (media and PR work, journalism, internal communication or lobbying, or similar).
- Very good text writing skills, proven record of formulating for target groups
- Ability to express oneself well both verbally and in writing; polished, target-group oriented style
- Experience with media production is an advantage
- Knowledge of graphics applications
- Editorial experience, experience in writing articles and press releases (evidenced e.g. by work samples)
- Experience in the development sector is an advantage (knowledge of development cooperation specific language)
- Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
- A proven track record of performing communication and visibility tasks
- Fluent written and oral knowledge of English and Nepalese
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
