Roles and responsibilities of this job
We are engaging two experienced IT Systems Engineers - Process Automation, on an independent contractor basis, to help design and deliver automation and workflow-intelligence solutions for clients in Australia and other international markets.
Our delivery stack includes n8n and UiPath, with adjacent tools for APIs, databases, document processing, testing, monitoring and reporting. You do not need prior experience in these specific platforms. Onboarding to our stack is provided and paid.
What matters most is systems judgement: understanding how real systems fail, why processes break, where handoffs are weak, and what a business owner actually means when they describe a problem badly. If you have owned infrastructure, managed an IT function, supported production systems, or been the person called when something breaks, this role was written for you.

Contract Term: Initial 12 months, renewable, intended as an ongoing long-term engagement
Terms
This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. You will invoice monthly, manage your own tax and statutory obligations, and provide your own equipment.
You are free to take on other work that does not conflict with ControlArc, its clients, delivery timelines, confidentiality obligations or intellectual property rights.
All intellectual property created under the engagement is assigned to ControlArc unless otherwise agreed in writing. Client information, internal methods, workflow designs, templates and documentation are confidential.

ControlArc builds operational control, workflow intelligence and process automation systems for medium-sized and larger businesses. We focus on the manual, repetitive, error-prone work buried inside organisations: invoice matching, enrolment processing, reconciliation, document handling, reporting, client onboarding, approvals and internal handoffs. We are not hiring people to push buttons inside one RPA tool. We are building a practical delivery team that can understand a messy business process, map the exceptions, design the logic, test the result and support it once it is live. ControlArc is a small, director-led company. There is no middle management and no layers. You will work directly with our directors and be trained into our automation delivery stack.
