Reports To: Head of Operations
Duty: 8 hours

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software and Networking IT Officer to join our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our software systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and providing technical support to end-users. This role requires a strong understanding of software development, network administration, cybersecurity, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Software Development and Maintenance:

Develop and maintain software applications and tools that streamline business processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather software requirements and deliver solutions that meet user needs.
Perform software updates, patches, and troubleshoot any software-related issues.

2. Network Administration:

Configure and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity problems, and ensure optimal network security.
Implement and manage network policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

3. Technical Support:

Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
Train employees on the use of software applications and network resources.
Maintain documentation of IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.

4. Security and Compliance:

Implement and enforce IT security policies and protocols to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance network and data security.

5. Infrastructure Management:

Monitor server infrastructure and ensure the availability and performance of critical systems.
Plan and execute hardware and software upgrades as necessary.
Manage data backups and disaster recovery plans.

6. Vendor Management:

Collaborate with external vendors for hardware and software procurement, licensing, and support.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies or solutions to enhance IT operations.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in software development and programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
Strong knowledge of network administration, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
Familiarity with network security protocols and practices.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) is a plus.
