Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH invites applications from suitable candidates to work with Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme (REEEP)- Green Recovery and Empowerment with Energy in Nepal GREEN. REEEP-GREEN is a technical cooperation project agreed between the Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Federal Republic of Germany. With support of GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union, REEEP-GREEN is executed by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and sets out to improve the preconditions for planning and implementation of measures for the promotion of renewable energies and the efficient use of energy in Nepal. The main objective of REEEP-GREEN is to create the regulatory, institutional, and private-sector conditions for disseminating renewable energy and improving energy efficiency in Nepal. REEEP-GREEN uses a multi-level approach consisting of five output areas: Output 1: Policy- Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) at National Level; Output 2: Institutional Frameworks for RE and EE at Subnational Levels; Output 3: Sustainable Market Development for RE; Output 4: Dissemination of Results in the field of RE and EE; and Output 5: Energy Efficiency in Industries and Enterprises.

Qualification And Skills

  • Possesses an adequate higher education diploma or training and relevant work experience in computer sciences
  • Stress-resistant

General Functions: 

Under the authority of the IT Expert, the incumbents must perform the following tasks:

  • Coordinate IT purchases with the logistics team. Identify IT suppliers and prepare to adopt specifications
  • Verify and validate IT deliveries
  • Assist the IT expert in the preparation, installation and operation of the computer resources (server, laptops, printers, office internet and network). Proceed with the de-installation at end of mission
  • Configure and install newly delivered equipment (laptops, printers, smartphones and any related IT equipment for the mission)
  • Ensure the IT security of the mission (anti-virus, access control, passwords, etc.)
  • Provide IT technical assistance to the member of the mission, both in the office and remotely
  • Manage and maintain the IT stock and inventory
  • Assist the IT Expert and Logistics Expert during observer briefings (presentations, practical exercises, use of computers, tablets, telecom equipment)
  • Support to Statistician and Press and Media experts for the treatment of observation questionnaires, the installation and operations of media monitoring systems, social networks, mission web platform)
  • Perform any other tasks as may be required

NOTE:

  • All positions are open to men and women with no discrimination
  • For all positions, a good linguistic competence (spoken and written) in both English and Nepali is mandatory
  • All candidates must have sufficient computer skills to operate with electronic mail, word processing, public presentation and spreadsheet software
  • Flexibility required. Work is expected on occasions both in the evenings and weekends or even public holidays
  • Place of work in Kathmandu
