Position: Internal Controller – Finance

Location: Sanothimi, Bhaktapur

The Internal Controller will be responsible for strengthening the Internal Control System within the organisation, safeguarding the 
organisation’s assets, developing policies and procedures for Financial Risk Management, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. S/he will also be responsible for enhancing the operational efficiency of the organisation, ensuring transparency, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

  • Reviews financial reports and liaises with internal and external auditors.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors appropriate financial systems, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the efficient and
  • effective operation of the finance function.
  • Reports on financial performance and provides recommendations to management, advising on financial decisions.

Qualification, experience and skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or an equivalent Accounting degree from a recognised educational institution, with a minimum of two years' experience as an Internal Auditor for donor-funded programmes or INGOs/NGOs. Preferably, the candidate should be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or hold an ACCA qualification.
  • Candidates should have a strong ability to assess situations or circumstances carefully and draw sound conclusions.
  • S/he should have sound knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, as well as the laws, rules, and regulations of Nepal.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Nepali, and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
  • Experience working with children and young people will be an added advantage.
