INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT PROCUREMENT NOTICE

Long-term Agreement with Individual Consultant/s for HR Support Services

Reference No.: UNDP/PN/2024/38

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Nepal currently requires the services of an individual  to perform the work described here.  
In consideration of your qualifications, we are hereby inviting you to submit an offer for this particular  assignment. To assist you in understanding the requirements of this assignment, we have attached hereto the following :  

  • The Terms of Reference for the assignment described above; 
  • The standard Letter of Confirmation of Interest and Availability, which you must accomplish and  submit to UNDP; and 
  • The Individual Contract and its General Terms and Conditions, which you would be expected to  sign in the event you are the selected Offeror in this procurement process.

If any discrepancy between  deadline in the system and in deadline indicated elsewhere, deadline in the system prevails.

BACKGROUND

Human Resources Unit of UNDP Nepal Country Office provides a wide range of HR services for staff recruitment and contract administration of UNDP staff (CO, DIM and NIM) and a few other UN Agencies. The HR Unit is looking for services of a consultant to provide HR support services on retainer basis. HR Unit will assign specific tasks to the consultant for timely completion of the HR support services like long listing of applications.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree from reputable institution in social sciences/HR/ Business or related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in human resources/ administration/ project management/operations.
  • Good understanding of UN/UNDP systems and procedures.
  • Good English language skills is mandatory.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven hands-on computer skills (MS Office and MS Excel), skills to work with data bases and internet tools.
  • Past work with UN/UNDP will be an advantage.
  • Respect for confidentiality.

Note:

  • Applicants of 65 years or more require full medical examination and statement of fitness to work to engage in the consultancy.
  • The candidate has to be an independent consultant (If the candidate is engaged with any organization, the organization employing the candidate will be issued with a Reimbursable Loan Agreement (RLA) to release the employee for the consultancy with UNDP.)
