Salary scale: 8,000 to 11,000 NPR per day depending on experience

About the role

We have an exciting consultancy opportunity, based in Nepal, to work across Development Initiatives’ (DI) portfolio of Nepal-focused work to improve the sharing and use of data as evidence for development.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in identifying, developing and delivering projects on data for development issues. You will identify needs and opportunities for DI to provide support, coordinate delivery of support from DI’s experts, and where possible, deliver specialist support. You will be responsible for developing and driving DI’s role in the Data for Development (D4D) II programme, broadening DI’s engagement with stakeholders, and representing DI externally. Working as part of the D4D programme team, housed at The Asia Foundation offices, you will report to DI’s Senior Project Manager based in the UK.

We are looking for someone who has excellent spoken and written Nepali and English, has good knowledge of international development issues (both globally and in Nepal) and can build strong partnerships and relationships in Nepal. Knowledge of issues related to data for development, including the national statistical system, open data, data ecosystems, the data revolution is highly desirable.
