Human Resource Specialist

Position: Human Resource Specialist
Duty Station: Kathmandu

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a central contact for management and staff for all HR questions
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
  • Deal with all organisational and administrative stages in processing, e.g. monthly update of entries in SAP-HR for national personnel
  • Responsible for implementing and complying with GIZ’s national personnel policies and puts in place the corresponding HR instruments and procedures
  • Plans and organises training measures, including induction event for new staff, and advises managers on further training measures
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program
  • Prepare monthly payroll for national staff
  • Coordinate the health insurance coverage for national staff
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management

Required qualification and experience:

  • Master’s degree in human resource management or a related field with a specialization in Human resource management
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in a comparable position within international development organization
  • Good knowledge of national labour and social law
  • Experience in a multi-cultural, international setting is preferred
  • Proven record of organization and coordination skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Nepali. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Strong advisory skills and service-oriented attitude
