Reporting: The position will report technically to HR Manager and line managed by Sr. FAM.

Position Overview 

The HR Associate will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, shortlisting qualified candidates, interviewing for key positions supporting FCDO’s LISP. This role will focus on recruiting LISP team members to support the programme activities located in Kathmandu, Karnali, and Lumbini (and later, Madesh) provinces, ensuring alignment with the programme’s goals of inclusivity, climate resilience, and effective governance. 

Scope of Work: 

  • Collaborate and support the programme component leads to identify staffing needs, provide staff management, and to follow the HR planning and hiring process.
  • Support the HR Manager/ Sr. Finance Manager and Programme Manager, in the HR planning process including ascertainment of job needs, job adverts and hiring, ensuring compliance with FCDO guidelines, DT Global Nepal/ LISP HR policy and process and local labour laws.
  • Responsible to screen CVs, shortlisting of candidates, and to facilitate the interview process.
  • The position holder will be responsible to support all technical managers and line managers in carrying out -probationary reviews and annual performance reviews. The HR data based shall be maintained with high confidentiality and shall demonstrate very high level of integrity. 
  • Maintain Personal Information System (PIS) data in the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and keep records of HR related documents.
  • Monitor leave and fieldwork records in the HRMS.
  • Build and maintain a database of qualified professionals with expertise in infrastructure development, governance, and climate resilience.
  • Conduct reference checks and coordinate the onboarding of newly hired staff on the HR manager’s behalf.
  • Other roles and duties as assigned by the Line Manager

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Good at Nepali and English in both reading and writing. 
  • At least two years of experience in recruitment and HR support role preferably within international developmental organisation, or donor funded large projects.
  • The position holder should maintain a high level of confidentiality for the tasks, documents and information assigned and be able to follow the instruction of seniors and to perform the duties in a minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding of Nepalese labour market dynamics and hiring practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with gender-inclusive and culturally sensitive recruitment practices.
  • Preferable to have prior experience in FCDO funded projects.
  • Preferable, but not essential, to have HRMS software experience (Nimble Infosys).
