Job Description

Teaching Learning

  • Take classes and correct copies
  • Be familiar with Nepal Government’s course curriculum prepared by CDC, Curriculum Development Center under the aegis of Ministry of Education
  • Set exam questions according to the standard and conduct examinations as per the examination calendar set by the school; prepare examinations questions on time, conduct examinations, prepare the students' results and distribute the results to the parents/guardians
  • Fair assessment of examination papers
  • Take action against disciplinary violations
  • Meet parents/guardians when students have committed disciplinary violations
  • Work on the mark sheets and academic progress summary
  • Ensure that teaching works are being done well to complete the syllabus of all classes within the academic year
  • Plan  and submit a term lesson plan as per timeline/deadline given by the school
  • Must be well-versed with the objective set by CDC for each class, and must design each lesson to achieve the goals. You are encouraged to provide extra lessons, in addition to the course curriculum prescribed, based on students’ needs
  • Update your copy of teachers’ handbook all the time
  • Understand that physical punishment and verbal abuse is strictly prohibited in school. You are not allowed to use any negative reinforcement in the classroom such as making students stand or pointing out academically weak students in front of others, or use dialogue such as “why can’t you do this ?”
  • Strive for a better teaching methodology that goes against traditional teaching styles. Teachers must be proactive in making constant effort to make their class interactive
  • Meeting
  • Attend daily stand up meeting with Head of School (HoS)/ Principal and all faculty from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM
  • Attend faculty meetings
  • Attend weekly meetings with respective HOS at pre-decided time.
  • Conduct meetings with the parents/guardians whenever needed and ensure that they are well informed about their child’s education quality, conduct, extra-curricular activities, health, hygiene and neatness.
  • Must use proper language and maintain a professional behavior while dealing with parents/guardians
  • Must not complain about parents/guardians in front of the students at any cost, and his/her evaluation or treatment to the students should not be affected due to the conflict with guardians
  • Must report any conflicting cases that might arise while dealing with parents/guardians to higher authority
  • Must maintain a professional relationship and a healthy distance with both guardians and students.
  • Communication
  • Communicate about serious disciplinary issues of students with HOS
  • Report to concerned authority about any problem in infrastructure or sanitation of a classroom or the school

Others

  • Reporting any infrastructure/sanitary issues in the classrooms
  • Meet the deadlines of all tasks, especially those assigned by school management
  • To ensure that standards and the safety of the students in academic and extra activities are maintained.
  • To manage, supervise and guide the students in performing their tasks properly and maintain their morale and discipline
