Job Description

Name of the Project: Solukhumbu Women’s Health Project
Line Manager: Program Coordinator
Reports to: Program Coordinator & Program Director

The Health Officer is bound to maintain and improve health status of the target beneficiaries, to improve the quality of health service and staffing, to reduce supply side barrier, to reduce demand side barrier of the people by raising health awareness and improving the health seeking behavior of the people living in these remote village, Waku, Chheskma and Taksindo of Solukhumbu. The Officer is responsible to plan, implement and co-ordinate the project activities to ensure the quality in Action for Nepal’s projects and coordinate with local as well as district stakeholders and also able to prepare reports (activity reports, monthly reports and quarterly reports) for documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Programme coordination, implementation and reporting 

  • To plan, implement and co-ordinate the project activities to ensure the quality in Action For Nepal’s projects;
  • To prepare activity plan and fund requirement for the field level activities for smooth delivery of project activities;
  • To provide technical and coordinating support to organize project activities in the community;
  • To ensure that activities are carried out timely and effectively as per approved project proposals;
  • To ensure timely submission of activity reports, quarterly reports and data as per the reporting timeline;
  • To ensure the implementation of policies and practices;
  • To be in regular communication with the team and to support the program in field;
  • To co-ordinate with the local stakeholders and to plan about the future sustainability of the project; 
  • To schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda;
  • To support growth and program development;
  • To provide technical support to FCHVs in conducting Health Mothers Group sessions.

Documentation, Monitoring and Evaluation (DMnE)

  • Conduct regular monitoring, collect information from the field and prepare timely reports;
  • Provide regular and timely updates of the field activities and document the information;
  • Document stories of change, good practices and learning from the project; 
  • Ensure quality assurance of the project activities in the district in terms of logistic management, content, delivery of the activities and documentation;
  • Proper documentation of all the relevant references and materials;
  • Identification of new projects, conducting need assessment, monitoring and evaluation, due diligence and community sensitization meetings.

Stakeholder Coordination/management

  • Establish communication, linkage and networking with different stakeholders, partners and local government;
  • Help build positive relation with all the stakeholders in the district and community;
  • Ensure that all programmer partners and stakeholders are kept regularly informed about the progress of the project activities;
  • Maintain proper and regular coordination with key project stakeholders of Action for Nepal like District Health Office, Municipality, Rural Municipality, Health Posts, HFOMCs and FCHVs.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Conditions:

  • Extended working hours. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines
  • Travel be required for the purpose of meeting with right holders, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
