ROLE PURPOSE:
The Health& Nutrition Officer (HNO) is overall responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting ofthe project related activities in the assigned district. In addition, s/he provides technical assistance to District Health Office, Health Facilities and PNGOs to implement and monitor the health and nutrition related activities. Likewise, the HO establishes and strengthens good coordination with government agencies like DHO, DDC, DEO, WCO and supporting agencies in the district. He/Sheensures functional reporting and logistics supply system of DP/HO and HFs for quality and timely service delivery of the project interventions at VDCs and District level.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Core Responsibilities:
Planning, implementation and monitoring of the project interventions at District level
- Prepare Detail Implementation Plan (DIP), and phased budget of the project in the assigned district with full participation of government counterparts.
- Ensure timely implementation and budget utilization of project interventions as per DIP and phased budget prepared for the district.
- Conduct random monitoring of activities being implemented and partners to ensure the planned activities are implemented as per minimum standards.
- Technical Support to DP/HO, health facilities and Partner NGOs for timely Implementation of the project including ensuring quality of services and for functional integration of maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition program at district level.
- Conduct data verification and ensure the quality of data of health and nutrition activities.
- Ensure the supply of essential health commodities and materials required for the project.
Develop Coordination and technical support for project implementation.
- Establish good coordination with different stakeholders involved in health related services.
- Ensure timely collection of accurate, complete, consistent data by DP/HO especially from FCHVs and health facilities and DEO/officersfor adolescent health interventions..
- Participate in monthly meetings at district,Illaka and HF level and provide technical support and feedback as per need of the program.
- Participate in meetings, seminars, workshops as per the requirement of the project.
- Support the Supervisor and Health coordinator at District office, to prepare reports.
Reporting and documentation of the project interventions
- Prepare and compilation of project reports of the district as per requirement of government, SC, HKI and donor.
- Compile and timely report health and nutrition reports for the district (as a one door system for reporting)
- Ensure timely collection of accurate, complete, consistent data from program district and document all the program related interventions, innovation, lesson learnt, challenges, thebest practices and identified the case studies.
- Identify MEAL issues and recommend response
- Support to District Sr. Coordinator to develop and process of MOU/activity agreement for implementation in partnership with DP/HO, and partner NGOs.
- Facilitate meetings, trainings and workshops as per plan.
- Prepare monthly project tracking report, analysis the expenses and submit in time.
- Log registration and maintaining log issues
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health/ Bachelor degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Total work experience in any area (In Yrs):3-5 years
- At least 3 years experience on program implementation at district level on maternal/child health related program. Experiences on administrative, financial, logistics management will be an additional asset.
