Job Description

Baniya Nirman Sewa is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Health and Safety Engineer to join our team. As a senior-level professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the public during road construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures for road works in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Provide training and education to employees on safe work practices and procedures.
Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify potential safety risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Review and approve subcontractor safety plans and ensure their compliance with company policies.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities.
Stay current with industry best practices and regulations to continuously improve the company's safety program.
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to promote a culture of safety.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or Environmental science.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in road construction.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
