Role overview

Continuously improve the quality of our programming in Nepal and, through that, sustain the programme’s strong and diverse income base

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

General:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or similar. Masters preferred
  • At least 8/10 years’ experience in programme development, business development and bid development

Technical expertise on business development:

  • Substantial prior success in developing successful, major, multiyear proposals
  • Strong experience in M&E and ability to apply range of techniques
  • Experience in diverse, holistic, integrated development programming including in Inclusive Education, Health, Resilient Livelihoods, Social Accountability

Teamwork

  • Excellent team building, team working, and relationship building skills; experience of working collaboratively as a member of a Senior Management Team member, and of building partnerships in a multi-cultural environment

Planning and Time Management

  • Able to priorities tasks, manage time and tight schedules, work effectively under pressure, and assist direct reports with prioritization of tasks and meeting deadlines

Financial Management

  • Proven ability to develop and monitor programme budgets

Networking for collaboration

  • Ability to negotiate and maintain relations with external stakeholders

Volunteering for Development

  • Understanding and valuing the role of Volunteering for Development. Familiarity with diverse models of volunteer engagement and the volunteer journey – proven ability to leverage volunteer engagements to deliver social change outcomes. Personal experience of volunteering for development is a significant plus.

Information Technology

  • Good level of computer skills on MS Office, Outlook, Internet, SharePoint etc.

Travel requirement:

  • Ability to travel and spend time away from base and home as required

  • Good understanding of the Nepalese context.
