Job Specification

Education Level : Under Graduate (Bachelor)
Experience Required : More than or equal to 5 years
Other Specification
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (BHM) / Postgraduate Diploma in Culinary Art.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation will be an advantage.
  • Professional qualification in Culinary Arts or possess previous experience in Chinese restaurant/ Vegetarian Cuisine will be an advantage.
  • At least five years of work experience in a professional kitchen involving in management role.
  • Eager to learn vegetarian cuisine.
  • Must be able to prepare and cook for large groups of people.
  • Eligible candidates must have honest and sincere character without any drinking, smoking and other negative habits.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office. 

Job Description

We are looking for a Head Chef to prepare meals for our Buddhist monastery;

    Responsibilities:

    • Must be able to prepare all vegetarian cuisine dishes as per menu specifications and recipes.
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the culinary team.
    • Manage food costs and inventory.
    • Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
    • Label and organize all the cooked and uncooked food items in the fridge, pantry, and storeroom.
    • Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
    • Must be able to maintain the kitchen’s hygiene and sanitation.
    • Organize and produce a menu for each week’s meal.

    Work Hour and Benefits

    • Working Days: 6 Days a week
    • Duty Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
