NLR Nepal is a not-for-profit national organisation registered under Company Registration Act of Nepal in 2018. NLR is a member of NLR Alliance led by NLR Netherlands for providing technical and financial support to leprosy and disability programmes in seven countries including Nepal. 

NLR in Nepal, works closely with the government and non-government stakeholders and partners to eradicate leprosy from the country and to make all development initiatives inclusive to people affected by leprosy and disability.  NLR Nepal consists of 18 staff members and located at Sankhamul Marga, New Banewhwor Kathmandu with its field offices in Biratnagar and Dhangadhi covering province one and Sudur Pashchim Pradesh.

Background: 

NLR Nepal is a not-for-profit national organisation registered under Company Registration Act of Nepal in 2018. NLR is a member of NLR Alliance led by NLR Netherlands for providing technical and financial support to leprosy and disability programmes in seven countries including Nepal.  

NLR in Nepal, works closely with the government and non-government stakeholders and partners to eradicate leprosy from the country and to make all development initiatives inclusive to people affected by leprosy and disability. NLR Nepal consists of 18 staff members and located at Sankhamul Marga, New Banewhwor Kathmandu with its field offices in Biratnagar and Dhangadhi covering province one and Sudur Pashchim Pradesh.

NLR Nepal is looking for a competent, dynamic and self-driven Leprosy Field Coordinators with HA or Staff background to deal with leprosy field program effectively.    

Job Summary: 

Responsible for the implementation and completion of the field based projects, directly or indirectly, including priority setting between activities, in order to achieve the result anticipated by NLR.  

Support and facilitate to implementing partners including the Government in leprosy related activities to reduce the burden due to leprosy and dealing with all contextual factors of leprosy.  

Roles and Responsibilities

Planning

  • Participate in developing and implementing annual plan and budget with partner organisations and to achieve the successful outcome of the program in line with the agreed approach.
  • Develop an annual operating plan in person to support the program outcome.
  • Develop annual calendar of operation.

Coordination and Liaison

  • Arrange an effective coordination mechanism with Government particularly Provincial Health Directorate and Municipality Health Coordinator and Health Posts.  Liaise with program and project stakeholders on an ongoing basis especially with Provincial and municipality authorities. 
  • Where required, coordinate and communicate with community’s organisations to implement the activities through our partner organisation. 
  • Good coordination and communication with Leprosy clinic located in Zonal hospital. 
  • Represent NLR is various provincial, districts and municipality level forums

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Collection, compilation, analysis, interpretation of leprosy data received from Government, partner organisations and municipalities and use them for monitoring.
  • Participate in the review the process and outcome of quarterly, half yearly and annual performance reviews. 

Recording and Reporting

  • Ensure annual and other periodic project reports are prepared and well documented. 
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals and presentations. 
  • Strengthen documentation system in field programs.  

Training and Facilitation

  • Support and lead if required for the leprosy related topics including Global and national policy in the field.
  • Facilitate in provincial, district and municipalities based trainings
  • Give on the spot training wherever requires 
  • Act and involve for every issues of SDR PEP intervention and roll out activities including out of NLR working area when required. 

Others

  • Support in office management whenever required in consultation with Field Office In-charge.
  • Assist on designing & implementation of different research & studies at local level 
  • Promotion & enhancement of team building approach for fruitful impact of the project activities
  • Properly handle the conflict situations and create better coordination among project team
  • Extensive field visit is required. 

Requirements:

  • Health Assistant or Staff Nurse from a recognized Institution. 
  • At least three years’ experience in health related field preferably in development sector.
  • Effective writing skills in English and Nepali language
  • Verifiable and successful communication, networking and liaison skills with good track record.
  • Knowledge/training in IT (information technology) such as Database and operating systems, MS Office, Internet & Intranet.
  • Competent and proficient understanding of platforms, such as Nepal Government Health System and practices.  
  • Ability to work independently and meeting the deadlines. 
  • Well organized, communicative and excellent interpersonal working attitude
  • Keen to take initiative and collaborate with a diverse team
  • Fluent in English and Nepali
  • Ready to make extensive field visits including remote places.
