Job Description

Job Title: Graphic Designer
Designation: Graphic Designer
Reports to: Director of Commerce
Location: Chandol, Kathmandu, Nepal
Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 05:00 PM) from Sunday to Friday

Position Overview

Graphic designer will be responsible for creating visual text and imagery concepts, by hand or using computer software, and communicating ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers. He/she will be responsible for developing the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports, etc.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials.
  • Design creative and effective digital assets for use on social media, digital ads, websites, landing pages, and presentations.
  • Create engaging printable graphics for use on sales collateral and other marketing materials.
  • Presenting ideas with rough layouts, concepts for products, services of the company.
  • Produce scalable templates that can be easily iterated for new projects (help us work smarter, not harder!)
  • Consistently generate high-quality, delightfully on-brand graphic solutions that are delivered at (or even before!) deadlines
  • Contribute to market research projects and help identify how to effectively communicate with target audiences.
  • Help create a consistent brand experience across marketing initiatives by building on our basic grand guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications

Task Related

  • Experience as a graphic designer.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
  • Experience with computer-aided design.
  • Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus.
  • Possess an understanding of advertising campaigns.

Competencies and Soft Skills

  • A keen eye for aesthetics, details and visual compositions.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A deep understanding of social media, web, and print best practices (you will be the expert here).
  • Proven you can communicate (in various forms) with folks at any level in the company - from our directors to our newest interns.
  • Been successful at managing and integrating multiple projects with a ton of efficiency and, dare we say, delight!
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Real work experience with a strong portfolio that demonstrates a refined aesthetic and ability to adapt to a brand’s existing visual style.
  • Adobe Creative Suite expertise.
