Job Title: Global Institutional Funding Executive

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
- To work with the TLMGB Institutional Funding Manager to significantly increase institutional funding for The Leprosy  Mission’s work. 
 
POSITION IN ORGANISATION:
- Based at the TLM Nepal office in Kathmandu 
 - Seconded to the TLMGB Institutional Fundraising Team, reporting to the Institutional Funding Manager (within  the wider TLMGB Programmes Team) 
 - Working with the Head of Programmes and Research, Deputy Head of Programmes, Research and Policy  Manager, Programmes Officers, Programmes Finance Manager, and Corporate and Trust Partnership Advisors 
 
SCOPE OF JOB:
- Identifying institutional funding opportunities, and developing relationships with institutional donors and potential  consortium partners 
 - Writing and submitting quality applications that meet institutional donor requirements 
 - Ensuring appropriate administration and record-keeping for institutional-funded bids and projects 
 - Facilitating learning on Institutional Fundraising and support increased income, across the TLM Global  Fellowship, particularly through face-to-face mentoring of the TLM Nepal Institutional Funding Manager
 - Project managing cross-team fundraising initiatives 
 
DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY:
- Representing TLM in external meetings and in conversations with donors 
 - Bids signed off by TLMGB Institutional Funding Manager and Head of Programmes and Research
 - Willingness and ability to travel overseas up to 4 times per year, in addition to 2 visits to the UK 
 
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS LEVEL:
- Educated to degree level or higher 
 - Excellent writing skills with an ability to communicate persuasively with institutional donors 
 - Track record of securing large institutional funding, and managing a funding pipeline and portfolio 
 - Good research skills, with an ability to identify evidence-based practice relevant to the bid writing process
 -  Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to project manage initiatives  
 - Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to speak persuasively  
 - Good knowledge and understanding of the NGO-funding environment and donor agencies 
 - Knowledge of good practice in project design, budget development, theory of change and log frame analysis. 
 - Good analytical skills 
 - Ability to use Contact Management Systems such as Salesforce, and to ensure all donor communications are  recorded 
 - Ability to work under pressure and to observe deadlines 
 - Skilled in building effective cross-cultural relationships 
 - Ability and willingness to work closely with others as part of a team 
 - Self-starter - able to work without close supervision where necessary 
 - Competent with MS Office 365 applications including Excel at the Intermediate level 
 
PROVEN ABILITIES:
- Relevant work experience in the not-for-profit sector, including writing successful institutional funding  applications and liaison with institutional donors 
 - Experience in coordinating cross-team initiatives 
 
DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify institutional funding opportunities and develop relationships with institutional  donors and potential consortium partners (20%)
- Researching potential donors, analysing their giving and monitoring calls for proposals, in  synergy with the TLMGB Programmes Strategy 
 - Network with donors and potential consortium partners to develop relationships 
 - Make face-to-face donor visits where possible, including in Nepal (with TLM Nepal IF Manager) 
 
Write and submit quality applications that meet institutional donor requirements (50%) 
- Understand donor requirements and ensure applications meet them 
 - Work closely with the programme team and local partners to develop and agree final project designs  and budgets, that match donor requirements 
 - Undertake the research necessary to ensure applications are evidence-based 
 - Coordinate stakeholder involvement in the bid writing process 
 - Write quality funding bids 
 - Ensure timely submission of quality proposals, following the appropriate sign-off  procedures before submission 
 
Ensure appropriate administration and record-keeping for institutional-funded bids and  projects (5%) 
- Ensure all donor communication and each stage in the project cycle is centred on Salesforce 
 - Ensure all documents are appropriately labelled and filed 
 - Take minutes of meetings 
 
Facilitating learning on Institutional Fundraising and support increased income, across the TLM Global  Fellowship, particularly through face-to-face mentoring of the TLM Nepal Institutional Funding Manager (20%) 
- Help facilitate TLM’s Institutional Fundraising working group 
 - Support the capacity development of Institutional Fundraisers from our implementing partners, including face-to-face mentoring of TLM Nepal’s Institutional Fundraising Manager 
 - Ensure coordination with other TLM Supporting Countries when developing funding bids  
 
Project manage cross-team fundraising initiatives (5%) 
- Work with other TLMGB fundraising teams to maximise income  
 - Coordinate TLMGB’s due diligence assessments 
 - Develop and ensure compliance with pre-contract timelines, including for the development of fundraising and communications collateral
