Background:
NLR is an international non-profit, non-religious and non-governmental organisation, established in 1967 in the Netherlands and providing technical and financial support to leprosy and disability programmes in seven countries including Nepal.
NLR in Nepal, works closely with the government and non-government stakeholders and partners to achieve the goal of leprosy free Nepal and to make all development initiatives inclusive to persons affected by leprosy and persons with disabilities. NLR Nepal has its country office at Sankhamul Marga, New Banewhwor Kathmandu and two field offices in Biratnagar & Dhangadhi covering all districts of province one and Sudur Pashchim Pradesh.
NLR Nepal is launching a research project on “Geospatial methods of clustering leprosy case data for effective rollout or implementation of both PEP and new case detection initiatives”. To implement this project NLR Nepal is looking for a competent, dynamic and self-driven GIS Mapping Supervisors (GMS) for its offices located in Biratnagar and Dhangahi.
General description of the required position
The supervisors (one in each province, Provinces 1 & 7) will assist the national Principle Investigator (PI) in implementation of GIS mapping activities in respective provinces and supervision of the GIS mapping researchers. As a background of GIS mapping, they are further responsible on updating leprosy inventories, coordinating for field activities of SDR PEP and recording/reporting.
