Qualification and Experience:

Master of Surgery in General Surgery (or equivalent) from a recognized university with Nepal Medical Council (NMC) registration.

The general surgeon position is one of the senior doctors’ jobs at OCH. The successful candidate would:

be expected to have experience in clinical leadership and training junior doctors and other staff.
model a patient-centred care approach towards inpatient and outpatient management and
promote and model a culture amongst clinical staff of learning and continuous quality improvement.

Salary and benefits will be according to OCH standards.

United Mission to Nepal Medical and Development Trust (UMN MDT) is a public trust with the objectives of managing Tansen and Okhaldhunga Hospitals, working in communities for the health, education, and self-reliance of those living in poverty in Nepal, and carrying out other social service work for the public good.

Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is a project of UMN MDT. Since it was established as a small clinic in 1962, OCH has been devotedly serving the community. This 50-bed hospital is a general care hospital providing affordable quality and cost-effective health care to the people of Okhaldhunga and the surrounding regions with plans to expand towards a 100-bed hospital in the future.
