Job Description

We're currently on the lookout for a capable and organized General Manager to oversee our organization's operational activities. This role requires adept management across various areas, including administrative tasks, legal compliance, project submissions, budgeting, scoping, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities

Administrative Tasks:

  • Collaborate and coordinate with lawyers, tax consultants, and donors to ensure timely renewal of tax exemption certificates and other legal documents.
  • Work with legal counsel to address any legal matters related to projects or organizational operations.
  • Arrange and attend meetings with representatives of rural wards & municipalities, as well as other relevant stakeholders for project-related discussions and assessing their suitability for funding.
  • Prepare and submit project proposals to the appropriate authorities for approval and necessary compliance.
  • Monitor the progress of project proposals and follow up on any pending approvals or revisions and assist the Social Welfare Council (SWC) during their visits to monitor the progress of projects.

General Management Tasks:

  • Develop and manage project budgets and ensure timely approval of budgetary requirements and project plans in coordination with donors
  • Scope out project requirements and resources needed for successful implementation and ensure alignment of projects with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all necessary documents are accurately prepared, submitted and saved for project approval and compliance.
  • Monitor the progress of projects and share status reports in a timely manner with donors, highlighting project progress, milestones, risks, and countermeasures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is required.
  • Over five years of experience in a role with significant responsibilities, having demonstrated a track record of ownership and successful completion of projects.
  • Proficiency in risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Involvement in tasks related to Social Welfare Council (SWC).
  • Ability to manage cash flow and be agile in problem-solving.
  • Proficient in professional communication in both English and Nepali, with strong social skills.
  • Proficiency in computing, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with excellent presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to undertake frequent visits outside duty stations or official travel as required.
  • Proficiency in drafting precise progress reports reflecting the company’s expectations and timely presentation/submission to management.
  • Supervisory experience in accounting.
  • Willingness to learn, scale the organization and establish and implement new processes as needed.
