We are currently looking for a General Manager at Sparśa who wants to provide all Nepali women with access to menstrual products and help them live a life with dignity and good menstrual health during their menstruation by providing affordable menstrual products, advocating for women’s rights, and raising awareness about menstrual health management.

 What you will do: 

  • You run Sparśa as a business, leading two teams of 4 people in Chitwan and Nawalparasi. 
  • You take care of Sales and Finance and constantly report to the NGO’s key stakeholders and the board of directors. 
  • You lead the project’s Operations in its two locations while setting up the strategic direction of Sparśa. 
  • You continuously identify growth opportunities and improve internal processes.  
  • You are an advocate for the product and stand up for the values and mission that Sparśa is carrying.    

What we think makes you successful in this role: 

  • You are (or identify as) female, live close to Bharatpur (or are ready to move there) and are willing to travel (Terai, Kathmandu, Pokhara, etc…) for several days/weeks in a row. 
  • You are fluent in writing and speaking English and Nepali and have basic MS Office skills. 
  • You have a professional background in business, where you had the chance to master your analytical, financial, and critical thinking skills. 
  • You are ready to take the initiative and tackle this world‘s challenges without being afraid to fall. 
  • Teamwork and clear communication come naturally to you, as people tell you that you are a great leader, who acts according to their values. 
  • You are a structured and logical thinker who thrives in uncertain environments and can combine this with creative and entrepreneurial ideas. 
  • You have a growth mindset and love working with people who challenge each other and enjoy each other’s company. 
  • Big plus: You come from a professional service, start-up, or social enterprise, have worked in the field of menstruation or other feminist projects, and are environmentally conscious.   

 About NIDISI/ Sparśa 

NIDISI is a non-profit company. We are building up social entrepreneurial projects in Nepal to create sustainable values for our society, environment, economy, and future. We are active in the development areas of menstrual health management and access to menstrual products, drinking water treatment, youth education and plastic recycling infrastructure. Through the Women Empowerment Cycle, we created Sparśa, a social enterprise producing and selling compostable menstrual pads made of banana fiber. The profits are reinvested into the enterprise to financially sustain menstrual awareness campaigns and women’s rights advocacy across Nepal.

Duration: 1 year contract, renewable
