Relief Nepal is a non-profit making, non-governmental, non-political, social development organization of Sindhuli district. It was established in 2008 AD with the core objective of vulnerable and marginalized people especially women, children, youth and people living with marginalized condition are empowerment and participated in decision process about the issue affecting their livelihood. It has successfully implemented Livelihood, Child Rights, WASH, Education and DRR projects in five districts. In partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), Relief Nepal is implementing Integrated Protection Community Engagement and Sponsorship Plan (P-CESP) in Tinpatan, Golanjor and Phikkal Rural Municipality of Sindhuli district. Project: WASH SDG (6) Gender transformative and Nutrition Sensitive Project

Reports: Program Coordinator

Purpose of position:

  • The purpose of this position is to regular monitoring and periodic evaluation of project activities and achievement through gender transformative approach to project team and Implement WASH SDG project in Sindhuli with the partnership of Plan International Nepal. This position is to ensure all the project activities are gender transformative and, it’s planning, monitoring coordination and reporting to the entire project. The person will have 50:50 role in gender transformative project implementation and its monitoring and data management. In addition to project management advocacy and influencing at local level is important in Her/ His role.

Educational Qualification and Experiences:

  • At least bachelor degree in Women Studies/ Gender studies, Community development, rural development, Public health, social science or any similar social science discipline with 3 years experiences in similar areas
  • Person should have experience developing the gender transformative materials, training and its use in WASH and other development program. 
  • Monitoring and documentation in previous job including data management and reporting are essential for the job role

Knowledge: 

  • Good knowledge in WASH related Gender issues and exist gender policy
  • Knowledge in Sanitation Hygiene Master Plan and Total sanitation guideline of Nepal Govt. 
  • Depth knowledge on total sanitation campaign, menstrual hygiene management and monitoring and evaluation tools

Skills:

  • Coordination, communication and documentations skills
  • Computer skill (Word, excel, power point, Internet email and database management)
  • Two wheels driving skill is preferable
  • Analytical & Problem Solving Communication/ Listening Inter-personal dealing working with team
  • Negotiation Networking/ Documenting Report writing skills in English and Nepali
  • Skills on gender related tools and training through utilization of different tools in past job role
  • Good facilitation skills is required

Key Role and Responsibilities:

Planning:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly monitoring plan and apply in field monitoring
  • Review the plan of field supervisors through gender transformative lens e and follow up action
  • Roll out Gender and WASH monitoring tools and Avko in project monitoring and evaluation
  • Develop and used of the monitoring tools and template provided by donor
  • Share the entire plan to the Program coordinator, organization and concerned authority as per scheduled time
  • Gender transformative activity planning and budgeting is key planning role in annual planning process of local government and project also

Implementation:

  • Conduct and facilitate Coordination and sharing meeting related to leadership and gender
  • Ensure gender transformative activity are shared to R/Municipality and ward level
  • Facilitate in R/Municipality level gender related training, orientation and gender and inclusion strategy preparation
  • Conduct gender related training to WASH champions and social mobilizer and community level activities
  • Promote to girls and women to lead for gender transformation activities in community
  • Ensure Capacity development of social mobilizer and WASH champions on gender transformative activity delivery and data collection and its management
  • Manage the gender disaggregate database management during implementation of project and issues raised on gender transformative impact
  • Provide proper guidance and orientation to the field supervisors and volunteers to gender transformative project activities and M&E tools
  • Apply joint effort for community action i.e social audit and feedback and documentation
  • Coordinate ward, rural municipality and municipality level elected body for effective implementation of gender transformative approach
  • Technical Support to field supervisors and volunteers to implement the activities as per plan
  • Review program documents and reports submitted by the associate staffs submit to the PC
  • Supervision monitoring of project activities at least 70% of time in field

Monitoring:

  • Prepare regular monitoring plan of project activities and conduct regular monitoring of activities as per plan
  • Organised joint monitoring plan with M/R and ward level
  • Prepare appropriate monitoring and evaluation formats and tools and applied it after approval of concerned authority.
  • Prepare monitoring and gender sensitive report at least in a month for the better implementation of project.
  • Prepare the GWMT report and submit to Plan international Nepal
  • Set the monitoring evaluation and GESI indicator of each project activities and follow up as per plan

Reporting:

  • Review and finalize Event, monthly, quarterly and annual report and submit to the PC
  • Review the report of field supervisors provide inputs and submit to the PC
  • Keep the systematic record of all the report and program documents as proper way
  • Collect and prepare the gender transformative case story in every quarter to share donor

Coordination/ Networking/ Influencing :

  • Coordinate with R/Municipalities and other stakeholders to prepare gender transformative policy and guideline
  • Ensure all the existing groups and ensure the women participation through the regular coordination Coordinate with Govt. agencies, financial institution and private sector for ensuring the women participation and role in decision making
  • Mobilization of local level network, women and girls and boys for participatory planning and inclusive planning process through engaging in local planning process
