Sustainable WASH for All in Nepal (SUSWA) is a WASH project funded by the Government of Nepal (GoN), the Government of Finland (GoF) and the European Union, implemented in and with selected municipalities in the Karnali Province. Niras Finland is the technical advisor.

SUSWA follows a Human Right Based Approach (HRBA) Gender Equality, Social Inclusion with focus on disability, and climate resilience are cross-cutting objectives, governing the design and implementation of the project, ensuring that everyone is included throughout.

The project adopts a twin track approach of 1) mainstreaming GEDSI in all project plans and activities to ensure GEDSI responsive WASH implementation and equal access and participation, and 2) targeted special activities for dignified menstruation management (DMM) and disability inclusion (DI) to address specific forms of harmful social norms, stigma and barriers that prevent women and girls and persons with disabilities accessing WASH and DMM on an equal basis with others.

In order to achieve the above, SUSWA needs to review and update the five-year “Gender Responsive and Disability Inclusive Plan” of 8 fast track LGs. In case of the 13 new LGs, basic workshop on “Inclusive Policy Analysis and Planning Workshop” is to be conducted to formulate the “Gender Responsive and Disability Inclusive Plan”. Follow-up of the current status of their implementation is also important. Therefore, gender responsive planning/budgeting and coding in all 21 LGs is also to be followed up. In connection to the OA1, DMM policy with annual plan is also to be formulated. Analyzing the work volume of GEDSI interventions to be executed during the year, a professional service provider is needed to facilitate the actions mentioned under the scope of work in the Terms of Reference (TOR).

SUSWA is looking for a short term GEDSI Service Provider to facilitate the “Inclusive Policy Analysis and Planning Workshop/Review Workshops” aiming to formulate the “Gender Responsive and Disability Inclusive Plan” of the assigned local levels. She/he will also facilitate Dignified Menstruation Management (DMM) Policy Consultations workshops at the same local levels.
