Fightback is a sexual violence risk reduction education program in Nepal. It offers a comprehensive program that integrates both soft skills and physical techniques for addressing violence and harassment. Fightback has made significant strides in our mission to address violence and harassment. Our in-person training and outreach have now benefited a total of 111,500 individuals, spanning 35 districts in Nepal. This includes 61,500 women and girls, as well as 50,000 boys, men, parents, and teachers. Specifically, 54,000 girls and 7,500 women have received training, along with 38,500 boys, 5,000 men, 5,700 parents, and 800 teachers.

FightBack International is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working globally to reduce the risk of sexual violence by empowering women, girls, and communities with mental, vocal, and physical skills. In Nepal, FightBack operates through its local entity, FightBack Nepal a registered non-profit entity headquartered in Bagdole, Lalitpur.

Other Specification

Master’s degree in Sociology, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Public Health, or related field (Bachelor’s with significant experience may be considered).
Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in research and/or fundraising (nonprofit/INGO experience preferred).
Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
Demonstrated success in grant/proposal writing and donor engagement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Nepali required.
Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with research/data analysis tools.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fundraising and Research Officer to support FightBack’s mission through evidence-based research and sustainable resource mobilization. This role combines program-driven research with grant writing, donor engagement, and implementation of the organization’s fundraising strategy. The Officer will play a key role in strengthening FightBack’s knowledge base and ensuring financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Resource Mobilization

The Fundraiser will lead efforts to secure online donations and build sustainable support for the charity’s mission.
Identify, map, and track grant opportunities from foundations, bilateral donors, corporates, and multilateral institutions.
Lead proposal writing, donor concept notes, and fundraising presentations.
Cultivate and maintain donor relationships, ensuring timely communication, updates, and reporting.
Coordinate fundraising campaigns and events in collaboration with communications and program teams.
Maintain a donor database and fundraising pipeline aligned with FightBack’s global fundraising strategy.
Create a Diaspora Engagement Plan.

Research & Evidence

Conduct and coordinate research studies that inform program design, advocacy, and impact measurement.
Analyze data, prepare research briefs, and contribute to publications, donor reports, and communication materials.
Track trends in gender-based violence, sexual violence prevention, and ESD (Empowerment Self-Defense).
Collaborate with program teams in Nepal and internationally to align research with strategic priorities.

Cross-functional

Support knowledge sharing between Nepal and U.S. teams.
Represent FightBack in fundraising and research networks, events, and stakeholder meetings.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
