The position is Kathmandu based but requires frequent travel to field. The ACT Nepal Forum Coordinator, will have coordinating role among the members of Nepal Forum including reporting and communication with ACT secretariat Regional Office Bangkok and ACT secretariat Geneva. S/he will be responsible for preparing alerts, situation reports and proposals in the event of emergency and also for ensuring that ACT Appeal funded projects meet the highest standards of implementation, quality monitoring and reporting, and provision of technical assistance. He/ She will represent the ACT Nepal Forum to different government ministries and non-governmental organizations/forums including the Association of International NGOs (AIN) task group meetings in relevant areas and meeting with the UN bodies as authorized by the Forum. The position holder will actively look for the opportunities of pursuing projects/ activities that are of common interest to all the members of the Forum and also to organize capacity building training for the Forum members.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, management, development, international studies or related field
  • A minimum of three years of INGO experience in relief and development programs.
  • Strong experience working with alliances and networks.
  • Demonstrated networking and collaboration knowledge and skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of emergency programming and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in project designing and proposal development process
  • Highly developed analytical and communication skills, and ability to assimilate and process information for wide-ranging audiences; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team oriented environment
  • A self-starter; can identify challenges and take initiative. Ability to prioritize, organize and carry out multiple tasks efficiently under pressure and with little supervision
  • Ability to resolve problems creatively and logically; synthesize; readily grasp issues and the means to address them; and translate ideas into action with a strong results orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications in English essential.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, and internet browsers; experience in the effective use and management of accounting and database software.
  • Ability to travel to remote areas of Nepal.
