Skills and abilities:

  • Familiar with donor agencies rules and regulation specially USAID fund management
  • various computer software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks or similar accounting packages
  • Excellent typing both Nepali and English
  • Excellent documentation and management skill
  • Sound knowledge on Nepal Accounting Standards, TAX and VAT
  • Ability to work under pressure

Appointment Type: Full Time for one year with possibility of extension.
Required Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business administration (preferable master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or equivalent degree on accounting and finance.
Experience: Minimum 10-year experience with accounting and financial management of USAID’s project is preferred.
Language required: English and Nepal.
Preferable: Preference will be given to the candidate from disadvantage group and women are encouraged to apply.


Job Description

National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) is implementing “USAID Education Emergency Response Project” with the funding support from USAID Nepal for the period of 2024 to 2027. The main objective is to support restoration and recovery of the education system in earthquake affected areas of Jajarkot and Rukum West and contribute towards building resilience of the education system. NSET seeks applications for the following positions from eligible candidates:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure performance of month-end and year-end closing functions and annual audits.
  • Review all documents prepared within the Finance/Accounts Division, ensuring the preparation and submission of required financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Establish system to monitor and track all project components.
  • Develop relevant standardized financial procedures to improve financial management and accountability.
  • Review and maintain NSET financial guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure all NSET staff members are trained and properly guided on financial regulation.
  • Establish and maintain system of internal audit and financial compliance.
