Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Finance, Accounting or related field or full / part qualification CA/ACCA/CIMA is required or Master degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred 
  • Three to five years of professional experience in a similar position, experience in INGO is preferred
  • Previous experience of working with USAID funded project is preferred
  • Familiar with local finance, accounting & tax authorities
  • Experience in a computerized environment and a good working knowledge of an accounting package – including QuickBooks, and MS Office packages
  • Strong written & oral communication skills in English & Nepali

Primary responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Maintenance of accounting transactions and records
  • Review accuracy and completeness of all accounting transactions before it is recorded in QuickBooks
  • Facilitate local audits as per Nepal reporting requirement; Monitoring and performance of internal audit for/by SC
  • Handling fund/wire transfer requests; preparation of the payroll, provident fund contribution and other statutory payments
  • Review and prepare budget reports, monthly reports, billings/statements/invoices, cash advance request, liquidation reports
  • Preparation of payment vouchers with backup documents and checks for payment and deposits
  • Support SC’s sub-awardee partners with submission of financial reports in line with SC & donor requirements
  • Handling finance related communication with headquarters and with local banks
  • Oversee, liaise\coordinate the procurement of both office & program-related goods & services in line with SC & donor requirement for effective procurement, inventory control and review
