Role Purpose

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s overall financial health and ensuring effective utilization of resources. Beyond core finance and accounting responsibilities, this role includes developing recovery plans, collaborating with the sales team, analyzing sales trends, evaluating employee performance metrics, reviewing production scope and plant utilization, implementing product costing and cost controls, overseeing procurement and vendor selection, and leading the finance and cross-functional support team. The Finance Manager will act as a key strategic partner to management in driving profitability and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Control

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory frameworks.
• Maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
• Prepare timely MIS, cash flow statements, and management dashboards.
• Manage banking relationships, including negotiation of borrowing limits, renewal of credit facilities, and compliance with bank covenants.
• Arrange and monitor bank borrowings, working capital facilities, and term loans to optimize cost of funds.
• Ensure efficient fund flow management to meet operational, procurement, and project requirements.
• Monitor interest costs and repayment schedules to minimize financing risks.

2. Recovery Plan & Business Continuity

• Develop and implement financial recovery strategies in cases of overdue receivables or business downturn.
• Monitor receivable aging and implement collection/recovery strategies.
• Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to prepare for market shocks.

3. Sales Coordination & Analysis

• Regularly meet with the Sales team to align revenue targets with financial planning.
• Conduct detailed sales analysis (customer-wise, product-wise, region-wise).
• Evaluate profitability margins across product lines and sales channels.
• Recommend pricing strategies, discounts, and commission structures based on financial impact.

4. Costing & Cost Control

• Develop and maintain accurate product costing models (material, labor, overhead allocations).
• Monitor standard vs. actual costs and analyze variances.
• Track and control production, administrative, and distribution costs.
• Implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product quality.
• Conduct margin analysis to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.

5. Employee Performance & Productivity Analysis

• Work with HR and line managers to track employee performance against KPIs.
• Analyze financial impact of underperforming departments or teams.
• Provide cost-benefit analysis of employee incentives, training, and resource allocation.

6. Production & Plant Utilization

• Monitor production costs, wastage, and efficiency parameters.
• Track % utilization of production plant capacity and highlight idle capacity.
• Provide management with cost optimization strategies and recommendations for production scaling.

7. Procurement & Vendor Management

• Oversee procurement planning and budget control.
• Implement transparent vendor selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
• Negotiate favorable terms with vendors to reduce cost without compromising quality.
• Monitor inventory levels to optimize working capital.

8. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Lead the Finance & Accounts team ensuring timely deliverables.
• Act as a bridge between Finance, Sales, HR, Production, and Procurement functions.
• Mentor and coach team members for professional growth.
• Build a performance-driven culture with focus on accountability and collaboration.
