About the organization
About Us
Since 2008, Nyaya Health Nepal (NHN), a non-profit organization has been dedicated to advancing equitable, high-quality healthcare for underserved and remote communities across Nepal. Working in close partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Provincial Governments, and the Local Government NHN strengthens healthcare systems and promotes equity-driven service delivery aligned with Article 35 of Nepal’s Constitution and Sustainable Development Goal 3.
Over the past decade and a half, NHN has led transformative health system initiatives in some of Nepal’s most remote regions. NHN successfully managed Bayalpata Hospital and Chaurpati Primary Health Center in Achham, as well as Charikot Hospital in Dolakha, driving major improvements before smoothly transitioning each facility to government ownership. These handovers completed in Bagmati Province in 2020 and Sudurpaschim Province in 2025, demonstrate NHN’s proven expertise in Primary and Referral Care and the Design–Build–Operate–Transfer (DBOT) model for sustainable healthcare infrastructure and operations.
To strengthen care continuity and data-driven decision making, NHN introduced a comprehensive Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in its own managed facilities, Pashupati Chulachuli Hospital and Bayalpata Hospital and later scaled it to 12 additional hospitals, including 8 district hospitals in Karnali Province. This digital health platform supports integrated service delivery, continuous patient tracking, real-time reporting, and reporting to Nepal’s national HMIS and DHIS2 systems. These efforts have been enabled by strong partnerships with the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), provincial health directorates, and district hospitals, ensuring smooth implementation and long-term sustainability of digital innovations.
With a dedicated team of more than 400 professionals, NHN has delivered care to 1.32 million patients, conducted 1.27 million home visits, and expanded digital health solutions across some of Nepal’s most geographically underserved regions demonstrating measurable impact in improving rural health outcomes.
